與兵衛(よへい)さんは、京釜の歴史と伝統を守りつつ、全て手作業で茶釜などを作る若手の金工作家です。 普通、京釜には作者の銘が入りませんが、茶人は、釜の肌合いで誰の作品かを見分けるそうで、三代・與兵衛作の釜の肌合いも、艶やかで美しい独特の魅力を放っています。 先日、京都の吉羽工房を訪ねましたが、いつも変わらぬ優しい笑顔でお迎え頂き、美味しい薄茶を一服頂戴しました。 お話を伺うと、現在、京都には釜師の方が與兵衛さんを含めて4、5 名しかいらっしゃらないとの事。微力ながら私も応援したいと思った次第です。 茶会を行う事を「釜をかける」という程、茶の湯にとって茶釜は大切なお道具。 今回の初個展では、そんな近作の茶釜、建水、蓋置などの茶道具に加え、日常の生活を彩る鉢、盆やカップなども発表致します。 是非ご高覧下さい。
