Introduction
Introduction

There's a saying, "Imagination leads to creation."

These are the words of potters who learned about pottery techniques, clay, and firing processes from pottery fragments, and dedicated themselves to the revival of Old Karatsu ware.

These words still live on in the pottery-making philosophy of Karatsu ware.

Naoki Kojima is one such ceramic artist.

They are dedicated to the preparation of the clay, which is said to be the lifeblood of pottery, and are passionate about the unique clay and firing characteristics of Karatsu pottery.

Its form was also inspired by fragments of old Karatsu ware.

All that remains is to sincerely engage with the work and deepen one's own understanding.

If you have high aspirations, you're sure to create great works.

I believe in that, and I have high hopes for Mr. Kojima.
