| Introduction Introduction |
Shapiro also held a solo exhibition at Kakiden Gallery three years ago, which resonated with many people. He visits Japan from America every year, and each time I have the opportunity to see his tea bowls. From what I can see, he is the foreign ceramic artist who best understands the "proper way" of tea ceremony ceramics, especially tea bowls. Moreover, he's someone who creates unique works with a sensibility different from that of Japanese people. I'm looking forward to seeing your work.
