| Introduction Introduction |
He is a person who is seriously searching for the ideal form of Kyoto ware. The roots of Makuzu ware lie with Miyagawa Chozo, who emulated Ninsei, a master of replicating Korean tea bowls, and his skill forms the basis of the overglaze enamel technique. He saw through that, and that's why he's taking on the challenge of creating Goryeo tea bowls—a seemingly simple but truly correct path. This same guy bakes bread. Apparently, it's pretty tasty. He even gets carried away and bakes bread out of dirt. It looks nicely browned and delicious, but it's inedible. Because it's dirt. But for some reason, it's strangely intriguing. It grows on you slowly. That peculiar feeling is probably something that can't be conveyed by simply listing the words. I would very much like you to experience it, and that is why I am inviting you here. Tomohiro Nakamori (Media Producer) |
