| Introduction Introduction |
Inatomi-san is a 33-year-old up-and-coming potter who lives in Otsu City near Lake Biwa and specializes exclusively in making white pottery. Its white surface is lustrous, and combined with its beautiful form, it exudes a quiet charm.
I sometimes find myself wondering what kind of music would suit my ceramic works. I think jazz would suit Inatomi-san's quiet works, but what do you all think? Inatomi has given the subtitle for this solo exhibition "Bones Reading the Moon." As for why he chose the title "The Bones That Read the Moon," please read the poem he wrote below. How about enjoying Inatomi's work on a hot summer night while listening to the jazz classic "Fly Me to the Moon"? For those who prefer alcohol, how about enjoying a crisp, chilled sparkling wine with this?
"The moon that simply goes through its phases"
Let's pray with these bones of mine.
Every reason is beautiful
Because it remains beautiful in its entirety.
Before I became myself
"I remain as I am, in prayer."
Junsuke Inatomi
Ms. Inatomi always has a friendly smile on her face and loves cats. Please feel free to pick it up and we would be delighted if you could offer guidance to our young potters.
