When weaving a basket vase, the first thing to think about is the flowers and plants. When cutting the bamboo for a flower vase, imagine the branches and flowers. When carving the tea scoop, I was moved to tears by the way of life of the tea masters. When I weave a charcoal basket, I reflect on the profound depths of the tea ceremony. | Biography Biography | □ Hyoua Ikeda Born in Tokyo in 1951. After graduating from Musashino Art University, he pursued a career in bamboo art, and in 1993, he succeeded to the name of Hyōa III. Since then, she has regularly held solo exhibitions at Mitsukoshi Main Store. Currently, she presides over the "Chikuraku-kai" and teaches at Tanko Culture Center, NHK Culture Center, Mitsukoshi Culture Salon, Asahi Culture Center, and other institutions. He has authored numerous books, including "Tea Ceremony Bamboo Art Basket Flower Vases and Bamboo Flower Vases" (Tankosha), "The Art of the Tea Ceremony" (Sekai Bunka Publishing), and "Miscellaneous Stories about Baskets and Bamboo" (Tankosha). □ Taisuke Ikeda Born in Tokyo in 1981 After graduating from Musashino Art University, she studied under her father, the third-generation Hyoua Ikeda She worked as an instructor at a bamboo craft class alongside her father and exhibited her work at exhibitions at Mitsukoshi Main Store and Kakiden Gallery.
