| Introduction Introduction |
Yuka Hayashi is the wife of Kyousuke Hayashi , a ceramic artist and holder of the "Kise-Seto" style, which is designated as an intangible cultural property of Toki City. My acquaintance with Kyosuke was limited, and I only learned that Yuka was his wife when I was judging the "Contemporary Tea Ceramics Exhibition" held in Toki City in 2012, and her Shino tea bowl received an award of excellence. Since then, she has been diligently working on Shino tea bowls, but it seems she still hasn't grasped the profound depth of Shino glaze. However, he is certainly one of the tea bowl makers with great potential for the future. Seizo Hayashiya |
